The Competition
What is STEM Racing?
STEM Racing is the world's largest STEM competition, challenging students to design, manufacture and race miniature Formula 1 cars powered by compressed CO₂ cartridges.
Teams operate as real motorsport organisations — managing budgets, building brand identities, securing sponsorships, conducting aerodynamic analysis, and presenting their work to panels of industry judges. Engineering, physics, project management, and collaboration — all at once.

The 2026 Semi Finals were a defining moment — not just for our results, but for what they revealed. Competing against the strongest teams in the country showed us precisely where we excel and where we still have room to push further.
Our engineering and innovation were recognised by the judges. Winning Best Engineered Car and finishing 2nd overall confirmed what we believe: Tachyons is a team that belongs at the front.
